New Delhi: To prepare for the first phase of Census 2027, household listing and census will be conducted at selected locations in all states and union territories from November 10 to 30 this year. Officials said that along with this, facility to conduct census on one's own will also be provided from 1st to 7th November. Census Commissioner Mrityunjay Kumar Narayan has said in a notification that this preparatory census is being conducted to check how effective the preparations for the two-phase census to be held between April 1, 2026 and February 28, 2027 are. This will be the first digital census of the country, which will also include caste census.
What will happen in Census 2027?
In this test census, questions, data collection, training, materials, mobile app and software will be tested. If any problem is found, it will be fixed.
Census 2027 will be conducted in how many phases?
The census will be conducted in 2 phases. In the first phase, information about the condition, property and facilities of every house will be collected. In the second phase, information related to people including population, social and economic status, culture will be collected.
