Woman accused in suicide case of 12 year old child arrested, got three days remand

Shimla News: Police have arrested the accused woman in the suicide case of a 12 year old child in Limbada village of Chirgaon tehsil of Rohru subdivision of Himachal Pradesh. On Thursday, the accused woman was produced in Rohru court, from where the court sent her on police remand for three days.

12 year old child assaulted

The case is of September 16, when the accused woman was accused of beating a 12-year-old child and locking him in a cow shed. In the evening, the child was found unconscious at home, after which the family immediately took him to the hospital. When his condition became critical, the doctors referred him to IGMC Shimla, where he died during treatment on September 17.

Complaint filed on 20th September

The family got information in the hospital that the child had swallowed some poisonous substance. After this, on September 20, the child’s mother lodged a complaint at Rohru police station. Based on the investigation, on September 28, a case was registered against the accused woman under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Bail petition rejected

Meanwhile, the accused woman approached the State High Court for anticipatory bail, but the court rejected her bail plea. At the same time, Himachal Pradesh Scheduled Caste Commission has also taken serious cognizance of this entire episode. The Chairman of the Commission has issued orders to suspend the investigating officer ASI Manjeet on charges of negligence.

Got three days remand

DSP Rohru Pranav Chauhan told the media that the woman has been arrested and presented in the court. The court has sent him on police remand for three days and further investigation of the case is going on.
