
NEW DELHI: Former India women’s captain Shantha Rangaswamy has been elected president of the Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA), with former Delhi opener Venkat Sundaram appointed as secretary.
Deepak Jain takes over as treasurer, while Jyoti Thatte and Santhosh Subramoniam serve as member representatives.
The ICA Board also nominated former women’s captains Sudha Shah and Shubhangi Kulkarni as its representatives to the BCCI Apex Council and IPL Governing Council. V Chamundeswara Nath, popularly known as Chamundi from Hyderabad Cricket Association, was named the male representative to the Apex Council.
“This election is a landmark moment for the ICA, with two women now on the Board, including the first female president and a female nominee to the IPL Governing Council, reflecting the Association’s commitment to inclusive and progressive leadership,” the release said.
