GB News hosts Stephen Dixon and Anne Diamond kicked off their breakfast show with a huge breaking news announcement.

Dixon kicked off the announcement by telling viewers that they may be waking up to some surprising news, he opened up the show with the statement: "If you're waking up to this morning it'll be a bit of a surprise, but I was gobsmacked last night when I flicked my phone on just before I went to bed.

"Prince Andrew has given up all of his royal titles."

His co-host Anne Diamond added: "How much has he given up and how much has he been forced to? We don't know, but it follows of course a string of scandals including his relationship with Jeffery Epstein and apparently an alleged Chinese spy.".

They welcomed royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams on to discuss the decision to stand down.

He said: "It's become an international joke. The last poll I saw with YouGov in August gave him 5% support. People simply didn't believe it.

"He denies any wrongdoing, but I think he's guilty of the court of public opinion, the monarchy would have found great difficulty had something pretty drastic not occurred and if it hadn't gone to Parliament."

The commentator added that he hoped it wouldn't affect Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie who he said can "hopefully carve their own images".

He added that at the moment the public associate them with the York brand which is "absolutely toxic at the moment". But added the Princesses have done a lot of good and have "happy family lives", admitting the situation right now is a difficult balance.

Prince Andrew made the announcement on Friday, October 17 as he said: "The continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family."

It was said that Charles was "glad" to hear the news and the Prince of Wales also joined in the discussions.

His statement continued: "I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.

"With His Majesty's agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me."
