PM Farmer:As the festival of Diwali approaches, farmers across the country are eagerly waiting for the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN) scheme. The question being echoed everywhere is whether the government will deposit an amount of ₹ 2,000 in the accounts of farmers before Diwali this time?
Expectations are sky high, especially as the government has already released the 21st installment for flood-affected states like Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand recently.
Flood affected states got relief first
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had released the 21st installment of PM KISAN for the farmers of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh on 26 September 2025. Floods and landslides in these states had broken the back of farmers, due to which the government immediately took this step.
After this, on October 7, 2025, PM KISAN amount was also transferred to the accounts of farmers of Jammu and Kashmir. Now farmers from other states are also waiting for their turn.
What is PM KISAN scheme?
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN) scheme was launched in February 2019, under which financial assistance of ₹6,000 is given every year to eligible farmers. This amount is sent directly to the bank accounts of farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in three equal installments i.e. ₹2,000-₹2,000-₹2,000.
Its objective is to provide support to the farmers in the expenses of farming and income between harvest. This scheme has made the lives of lakhs of farmers easier so far.
The success of the 20th installment, now the turn of the 21st
The 20th installment was released in August 2025, due to which money was directly transferred to the accounts of more than 8.5 crore farmers. Now the 21st installment is expected to arrive in October or November 2025. Although the government has not yet announced the official date, there is talk that farmers may get this gift from PM KISAN before Diwali 2025. This amount will be no less than a gift for the farmers on the occasion of festival.
e-KYC is necessary, otherwise the installment may get stuck
It is mandatory for all farmers registered in PM KISAN scheme to get e-KYC done. You can easily complete OTP based e-KYC on PM KISAN portal. If you want, you can also get biometric based e-KYC done by visiting the nearest Common Service Center (CSC). Without e-KYC, your installment may get stuck, so complete this work quickly.
