Chhattisgarh News: After providing domestic LPG connections to more than 10.33 crore economically weaker women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the Government of India, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has once again started the process of providing 25 lakh new Ujjwala gas connections under PMUY, giving a gift to the people before Diwali. A target has been set to provide 2 lakh 23 thousand new domestic LPG connections in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for giving new connections under this scheme. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Sai, detailed guidelines have been issued by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department of Chhattisgarh Government for the new Ujjwala gas connection.
Beneficiaries will be given new connections in 15 days
According to the detailed guidelines issued by the department, District Ujjwala Committee will be formed in all the districts under the chairmanship of the District Collector. Regular monitoring will be done by this committee for the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in the district and disposal of the applications received within the time limit. Under the scheme, applications for new gas connections will be received from eligible families in the next 07 days. After testing and verifying the applications received by the gas agencies of the district, action will be taken to issue new gas connections within 15 days.
Beneficiaries will be given priority under Niyad Nella Naar Scheme
In the districts of Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur, Kanker, Dantewada, which come under Niyad Nella Nar Yojana, first of all the beneficiaries will be identified and by giving special priority to these villages, 100% identified beneficiaries will be given connections of Ujjwala Gas Scheme. In order to provide the benefits of the scheme to the eligible beneficiaries, special camps will be organized by selecting areas with easy network connectivity in coordination with the oil companies. Under the scheme, special camps will be organized in the identified villages for the remaining 34 thousand 425 families to get gas connections. For e-KYC of applications received from remote and inaccessible areas, areas with connectivity will be selected and they will be benefited through a special camp.
Collector will be the chairman of the district level Ujjwala committee
At least 05 percent of the applications received under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will be verified and examined by the District Ujjwala Committee. For this, instructions have been given to hold a meeting of all the gas agencies of the district and provide information for releasing new gas connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The District Level Ujjwala Committee will have the Chairman, District Collector or any senior officer authorized by them and the District Nodal Officer who will be from the Oil Marketing Company will be the coordinating member. Two members will be officials from the other two oil marketing companies. District Food and Civil Supplies Officer and two non-official members will also be members of the committee.
Criteria issued for new connections under the scheme determined
Criteria have been set for eligibility for new gas connections under PMUY. According to which, if any member of the family earns more than Rs 10,000 per month, any member of the household is a government employee, families with non-agricultural enterprises registered with the government are not included. Similarly, farmers with Kisan Credit Card credit limit above Rs 50,000, owners of more than 2.5 acres of irrigated land with irrigation equipment, owners of 5 acres or more of irrigated land for two or more crop seasons, owners of at least 7.5 acres or more of land with at least one irrigation equipment, owners of houses with carpet area more than 30 square metres, own motorized three or four wheelers or are engaged in fishing. boat or mechanized Owners of three or four wheeler agricultural equipment and families who already have LPG connections will be ineligible to avail benefits under the scheme.
