
Indore: Indian women cricket team vice-captain and opening batter Smriti Mandhana may be preparing for a new innings in her life.
Music director and filmmaker Palash Muchhal has apparently confirmed that the two will tie the knot soon, according to The Times of India. He made this revelation through a playful remark at the State Press Club in Indore.
Speculation about their relationship had been circulating for quite some time, fuelled by their frequent public appearances and adorable photos together on social media. The duo, however, had never publicly confirmed being a couple until now.
Smriti, who is playing in the Women’s Cricket World Cup at the moment, has not spoken on the issue till now.
Muchhal’s remark came after he was asked about the relationship. “She will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore… that’s all I want to say,” he told reporters, adding: “I’ve given you the headline.”
Thirty-year-old Muchhal is from Indore. Smriti is also at Indore at the moment for India’s match against Indore.
When asked about the tournament, the music director and filmmaker said: “My best wishes are with Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti (Mandhana). We always want the Indian cricket team to win every match and bring glory to the country.”
Muchhal is well known for composing music for several Bollywood films along with his sister Palak Muchhal. He has made a name for himself in the music industry for his catchy compositions and melodious tunes. Besides music, Muchhal is also a filmmaker.
According to TOI, he is currently shooting for his directorial venture, ‘Raju Bajewala’. The movie stars Avika Gor, famous for the TV serial ‘Balika Vadhu’, and Chandan Roy, who gained recognition through the web series ‘Panchayat’, in the lead roles.
