Lakshmi-Ganesh puja auspicious time will start from this time on Diwali today

Diwali 2025: According to the Hindu calendar, this year the festival of Diwali will be celebrated with devotion and gaiety across the country on 20th October. This festival, celebrated on the Amavasya date of Kartik month, has special significance in Indian culture. According to religious beliefs, on this day Lord Shri Ram returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile and the people of Ayodhya celebrated by lighting lamps to welcome him. Since then the festival of Diwali is celebrated as the festival of lights.

It is believed that on this day Mother Lakshmi travels on earth and blesses her devotees with prosperity, happiness and peace. On this occasion, worship of Lakshmi-Ganesh has special significance.

Diwali date and worship time

This year, Amavasya Tithi will start from 3:44 pm on 20th October and will continue till 5:55 pm on 21st October. There are two major muhurats available for puja:

Pradosh Kaal: 5:46 pm to 8:18 pm
Stagya Ascendant (Taurus Period): 7:08 pm to 9:03 pm

The most appropriate time for Lakshmi Puja is considered to be from 7:08 pm to 8:18 pm, the total duration of which is approximately 1 hour 10 minutes. Apart from this, Mahanishith Kaal will last from 11:41 pm to 12:31 am.

Auspicious combinations on Diwali

This time many auspicious Yogas are being formed on Diwali. Devguru Jupiter is forming Hans Yoga by being in Cancer, while Saturn is in retrograde state in Pisces. Vaibhav Lakshmi Yoga is being formed due to the influence of Venus and Moon and Budhaditya Yoga is being formed due to the conjunction of Sun and Mercury. All these yogas are making this day even more auspicious.

Method of worshiping Lakshmi-Ganesh

First of all, spread a red cloth at the place of worship and make a Swastika on it. Install the idols of Lord Ganesha and Lakshmi. Make arrangements for Kalash, lamp, incense and naivedya. Keep your face towards east or north during puja. Sprinkle Ganga water, do Tilak, then bathe Lakshmi-Ganesh with Panchamrit and offer food. In the end, perform Aarti and participate in the puja along with the family.
