Dhyan reveals Sreenivasan apologised to Mohanlal on ‘Hridayapoorvam’ set, but his response surprised him- The Week

Actor Dhyan Sreenivasan has revealed that his father and veteran writer-actor Sreenivasan apologised to Mohanlal on the set of ‘Hridayapoorvam’.

He recalled that Sreenivasan asked Mohanlal if his words hurt him and sought his forgiveness. To this, Mohanlal, responded with a smile and said, “Sreeni, let it go.” Dhyan said only Mohanlal has the heart to respond like that and that it amazes the rest of us.

The actor said he wants both Mohanlal and his father Sreenivasan to reunite for a movie once again.

Dhyan said while we celebrate Mohanlal the actor, the human being in him is rarely acknowledged. He said that it would be impossible to turn into an accomplished actor like Mohanlal but he pointed out that if people try, they can turn into a human being like him.

The actor recalled that while his father used harsh words against Mohanlal in one interview, he himself countered his father’s statements in another.

Dhyan recounted Mohanlal’s words while he was honoured for winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the actor said that people have not only praised him to the sky but also humbled him to the earth. However, Dhyan said Mohanlal did not respond to those criticisms and forgave them.

Last month, Mohanlal received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 71st National Film Awards for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema. While receiving the award, Mohanlal said, “I am happy that Malayalam cinema has received an award in Indian cinema.”

Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw hailed him as the “real OG” during the event. The award includes a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a shawl, and Rs 10 lakh cash prize.

Among Mohanlal’s long list of awards include five National Film Awards and multiple Kerala State Film Awards. His 1999 film, Vanaprasthamwas screened at the Cannes Film Festival. The actor was also conferred with Padma Shri in 2001 and Padma Bhushan in 2019.
