Team India got two pains on Diwali

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the fans wanted to see India win but the men’s and women’s teams had to face a crushing defeat. Team India played the first ODI match of the series against Australia on 19 October in Perth. This match was special, because Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli returned to Team India’s jersey after a long wait of 8 months. Both were out early. The match was under the shadow of rain and Team India could score only 136 runs after losing 9 wickets in 26 overs. In reply, Australia successfully chased the target with 7 wickets in 21.1 overs. Due to this, Team India suffered a crushing defeat.

On the other hand, things were disappointing for the women’s team also. Team India faced England under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur at Holkar Stadium in Indore. After two consecutive defeats in the Women’s World Cup, Indian women came with the intention of winning. England batted first and set a target of 289 runs for Team India. Smriti Mandhana scored 88 runs and Harmanpreet Kaur scored 70 runs. Deepti Sharma also played a brilliant inning of 50 runs. It seemed that Team India would win easily but it did not happen. England won the match by 4 runs. Team India got two pains in the Diwali season.

Team India has a chance to make a comeback

Men’s and women’s teams still have a chance to make a comeback and give a Diwali gift to the fans. Team India will have to win the next two ODIs against Australia on 23rd and 25th October to win the series. On the other hand, the women’s team will have to defeat New Zealand and Bangladesh to qualify for the women’s semi-finals. If the men’s and women’s teams do this, the fans will be very happy.
