Vidarbha Women vs Baroda Women T20 Match: Thanks to Bharti Fulmali’s brilliant six off the last ball, Vidarbha women’s team defeated Baroda by three wickets in their final group match of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy and secured the top position in Group ‘A’. With this win, Vidarbha entered the knockout stage with a bang with 24 points.
In this match played at PCA’s new stadium, New Chandigarh, Vidarbha won the toss and decided to bowl first. Baroda lost five wickets for 140 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. For Baroda, Shikha Pandey played a brilliant inning of 62 not out while Prapti contributed 32 runs.
Vidarbha had a balanced start
Everyone in Vidarbha’s bowling performed disciplined and prevented Baroda from scoring big. Chasing the target, Vidarbha had a balanced start. Disha Kasat and Riddhi added 39 runs for the first wicket but both were out after scoring 16 runs each.
After this, Mona Meshram and Latika Inamdar made a useful partnership of 47 runs for the third wicket and took the team towards victory. After Latika (30) was out in the 15th over, Mona (29) and Bharti Fulmali took over the innings.
When Mona was out, Vidarbha needed 19 runs from 13 balls. The pressure on the team was increasing, meanwhile three wickets fell in succession in the form of Mansi Pandey, Nupur Kohale and Aarti Brahmwal.

The competition had become very exciting. 2 runs were needed on the last ball. Then Bharti Phulmali, showing patience and courage, hit a brilliant six over long on, due to which Vidarbha not only won but also secured a place in the knockouts by topping the group.
After the match, Phulmali was selected as ‘Player of the Match’. Vidarbha Cricket Association officials and players appreciated his excellent performance. The team captain said after the match that this victory was an example of ‘the collective effort of the team and the spirit of never giving up’.
