This disease of bone weakness is called osteoporosis. ‘World Osteoporosis Day’ is celebrated every year on 20 October. The purpose of this day is to make people aware about bone health, many people are struggling with this problem. This type of problem is seen more in women after the age of 50 than in men. To make people aware about this disease, it is called World Osteoporosis Day.

Know what is osteoporosis disease

If we talk about the disease of osteoporosis here, it is a condition in which the bones become weak, their density decreases and fractures can occur even with the slightest injury or pressure. Often people do not know about it until the bone is broken, hence it is also called a silent disease. Regarding this disease, doctors say that this disease is to aging, hormonal changes and deficiency of calcium or vitamin D. Usually fractures of the hip, wrist or spine are the initial signs of this disease. Walking bent over, frequent pain or delayed recovery after injury can be its symptoms.

Regarding this disease, it is said in Ayurveda that osteoporosis is directly to the imbalance of Vata dosha. When Vata dosha increases, the strength of the body starts decreasing and the density of bones starts decreasing.

Know the ways to cure osteoporosis in Ayurveda

Many methods have been suggested in Ayurveda to prevent and cure this disease osteoporosis.

  • First comes chemotherapy, i.e. strengthening the body from within. It slows down age- decline.
  • The second one is oil massage. Massaging with Mahanarayan oil, Dashmool oil or Chandanabala Lakshadweep oil deeply nourishes the bones and joints.
  • The third solution is herbal medicines, such as Laksha Guggulu, Mahayogaraj Guggulu, Pravala Pishti and Mukta Shukti Bhasma. These traditional medicines help in increasing the strength of bones.
  • Besides, emphasis has also been laid on food and lifestyle. Ayurveda says that foods like horse gram, ginger, garlic, drumstick and ash gourd strengthen bones. Fruits like pomegranate, mango and grapes maintain nutrition in the body.
