Meteorological Department alert
Tomorrow’s Mausam 21 October: New Delhi | Amid the Diwali celebrations, the Meteorological Department has issued an important warning for various parts of the country. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over coastal areas of Kerala, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka in the next 7 days.
Rain and storm in north-eastern states
There is also a possibility of rain and storm in north-eastern states, Central India and Jharkhand. Let us know about the weather conditions and necessary precautions in different parts of the country.
Rain warning in South India
According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is developing in Lakshadweep over the south-east Arabian Sea and off the Kerala-Karnataka coast, which may turn into a depression in the next 24 hours.
Additionally, another low pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal on October 21. Due to this, there may be heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh from 20 to 25 October.
Weather condition in north-eastern India
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain over Andaman-Nicobar and Mizoram between October 20 and 25, along with heavy rain at some places. Strong winds (30-40 km/hr) and lightning are expected in Odisha till October 21. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may receive rain and thundershowers from October 20 to 23.
Weather change in central India
There is a possibility of storm with thunderstorms and strong winds from October 20 to 24 in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Konkan, Goa, Marathwada and Central Maharashtra. Especially between 21st and 23rd October, changes in the weather may be seen.
Effect of rain on Chhath in Jharkhand
Cyclonic winds are forming in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal, due to which a low pressure area may form on October 24. After October 25, its effect will be visible in Jharkhand, where rain and cold may increase during Chhath festival.
Diwali season in Bihar
The weather will be clear in Bihar on Diwali night. There will be light sunshine during the day, but there will be no feeling of heat. On October 20, the maximum temperature is expected to be 30-34 degrees and minimum 20-24 degrees Celsius. Light fog and mist are possible in the morning and night, but there will be no dense fog.
Pollution situation in Delhi
The weather will be clear in Delhi on Diwali, but pollution may increase at night. The AQI may go above 400, and the day may become slightly dark due to smog.
Weather in Uttar Pradesh
The weather will be clear in Uttar Pradesh on Diwali. There is no warning of rain. The temperature will drop at night and morning, causing a feeling of cold. All the districts are in green zone.
