
As Bihar Assembly elections are reaching their decisive turn, the political temperature is also rising. From Sasaram seat on Monday Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) As soon as the nomination of BJP candidate Satendra Sah was filed, Jharkhand Police arrested him. The arrest is said to be to a bank robbery case registered in 2004. Police say that a non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued against him.
According to Jharkhand Police, Satendra Sah is accused of being involved in a bank robbery that took place at Chironjia turn in Garhwa district. A permanent warrant was issued against him in 2018. Police records show that more than 20 cases to robbery and Arms Act are registered against Sah. Now he will be presented in the court of Jharkhand. If he does not get bail, he will completely stay away from the campaign.
Drama took place at the nomination venue
Officials of Rohtas district said that when Shah reached to file nomination from Sasaram seat, Jharkhand Police was also present there. The nomination process was allowed to be completed, but he was taken into custody immediately afterward. Supporters were seen raising slogans on the spot, who called it a political conspiracy.
Opposition accused of ‘political conspiracy’
This case is the third example of arrest of India Alliance candidates. Earlier, CPI (ML) candidates Jitendra Paswan and Satyadev Ram from Darauli and Bhore seats were also arrested after nomination. Now the opposition is alleging that these arrests are being made under pressure from the government.
CPI (ML) gave a sharp reaction
CPI (ML) Liberation issued a statement saying, “We strongly condemn the politically motivated arrest of our comrades. This action is a reaction of leaders frightened by the growing atmosphere of change among the public.” Opposition parties say that the continuous arrests raise questions on electoral fairness.
New twist in Bihar elections
Voting for 243 seats in Bihar will be held in two phases on 6th and 11th November. The nomination process has been completed and now all the candidates are busy campaigning. But this arrest has given a new twist to the election atmosphere in Sasaram seat. Political experts believe that this incident is not only a challenge for RJD, but can also become a big election issue for the entire opposition.
