Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has now made Aadhaar verification facility available online. You don’t need to go anywhere to perform this procedure; It can be done at home and the service is completely free.
Verification Steps
1. Official website of UIDAI uidai.gov.in go up
2. Go to ‘My Aadhaar’ section and click on ‘Aadhaar Services’.
3. Here select the option ‘Verify Aadhaar Number’.
4. Now enter your 12 digit Aadhaar Number and Captcha Code.
5. Finally click on ‘Verify’ button. If your Aadhaar number is valid and active, the message “Aadhaar Number Exists” will appear on the screen.

UIDAI’s official mobile app ‘mAadhaar’ also provides Aadhaar verification facility. This app is completely free and can be used on both Android or iOS. There are two ways to verify through mAadhaar:
1. Check Aadhaar Validity: One can check whether the number is active or not by entering Aadhaar number and captcha. If the number is correct, the status will show “Active”.
2. QR Code Scan: If you have a physical copy of Aadhaar card, scan the QR code on it. After scanning, the real information (such information) of the Aadhaar holder will be displayed. If no information is displayed, the card may be fake.
