It has been five and a half years since the death of famous Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Even today his death remains a mystery. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted its closure report in March this year. Now what is in that report has been revealed. CBI has given clean chit to actress Rhea Chakraborty and the next hearing on the closure report will be held in Patna court on December 20, 2025.

What is in the CBI Closure Report?

Sushant Singh Rajput, who made millions of fans through TV shows and films like 'Pavitra Rishta', 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa', 'Kai Po Che', 'Kedarnath', died on June 14, 2020. His body was found hanging in the bedroom of his flat in Bandra, Mumbai. The mystery of Sushant's death became one of the most controversial cases in the country. In March this year, CBI filed closure reports in two cases. In one case, Sushant's father KK Singh had filed an FIR against actress Rhea Chakraborty and her family. In the second case, Rhea Chakraborty had filed a case against Sushant Singh Rajput's sisters in Mumbai. CBI has given report after investigating both the cases. Five main things have been mentioned in the closure report of CBI.

• Rhea had left the flat six days before her death: According to the report, Sushant Singh died on June 14. Rhea and Shovik had left Sushant's Bandra flat on June 8 itself. After this he did not return home. Sushant had not spoken to Rhea or any of her family members in any way before his death. The report said that Sushant had talked to Showik on WhatsApp at 2:41 pm on June 10.

• The report also states that Sushant's sister Mitu Singh was in his flat from June 8 to June 12, although there is no evidence that Sushant's sister was with him till June 12. Apart from Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty, Sushant's manager Shruti Modi also did not come to his house after he broke his leg in February that year.

• Sushant's family had accused Rhea Chakraborty of theft. But the report says that while leaving the flat with her brother on June 8, Rhea took only the laptop and Sushant's gifted Apple Watch. He did not take any other items.

• According to CBI, Rhea and Sushant were in a live-in relationship from April 2019 to June 2020. During this time, Sushant had spent money on Rhea, which was opposed by the family. Sushant had told his flatmate Siddharth Pithani that Rhea is a part of his family. CBI has said in its report that considering Rhea as a part of the family, the expenditure incurred on her does not come under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Riya has not committed any property fraud.

• CBI has given clean chit to Rhea Chakraborty saying that there is no evidence that Rhea had instigated or threatened Sushant to commit suicide. No evidence has been found of Rhea Chakraborty or any other accused threatening Sushant in any way, including digital data.
