The controversy over the Asia Cup trophy is not likely to subside. Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has contacted ACC President Mohsin Naqvi regarding the trophy. According to a report, Mohsin Naqvi while talking to reporters in Karachi said, “ACC has informed BCCI that a formal ceremony will be held in Dubai on November 10 to hand over the trophy to India.” According to Dawn, Naqvi is adamant about handing over the trophy in person after the chaos that followed the final match between Pakistan and India last month.

What exactly did Mohsin Naqvi say?

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi while talking to the media in Karachi said, “Several letters have been exchanged with the BCCI and they have been informed by the Asian Cricket Council that a function can be organized in Dubai on November 10. They have invited Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and his team as well as BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla for the event.

PCB president Mohsin Naqvi said, “ACC has written to BCCI that a ceremony can be organized in Dubai on November 10. Bring your captain and players and accept the trophy from me.” Meanwhile, the BCCI is considering raising the issue in the ICC and ACC meetings. The ICC Board meeting will be held in Dubai from November 4 to 7.
