This Bollywood actor who has appeared in more than 500 films has always received praise for his work. When he made his cinematic debut in 1984 he was just 28 years old but portrayed a character who was 65. He is none other than Anupam Kher the star of Saaransh. Anupam Kher dedicated his life to acting and is now regarded as one of the most adored and respected celebrities in the industry. But in the beginning life wasn’t easy for him. He too had his share of challenges and rejections. At one point he was even removed from his residence along with his family because he was unable to pay rent. When Anupam Kher was evicted after failing to pay his rentIn an interview with The Screen Anupam Kher recalled the difficult times saying that in 1983 he shared a room with his mother brother and two friends. He was supposed to pay Rs 2100 by evening for the room rent which had been overdue for almost three months. “The landlord kept our luggage outside. I remember sleeping on the beach on a newspaper because there was no place to stay shared the actor. When Anupam Kher felt humiliated during a narrationDuring his tough phase Anupam Kher added in the same interview that he once received an offer from a producer who agreed to pay him a signing fee but with a catch. During the narration Kher was expected to act out the lines. Describing the whole incident as “atrocious” Anupam Kher shared I realised while he was narrating it that he wanted me to act out the lines. So if the line was about rain I had to pretend it was raining. If there were gushing winds I had to pretend I was being blown away. In addition to this the producer would place the bundle of cash next to Anupam but the moment he tried to take it the producer would withdraw it. Kher recalled This was the humiliation. Anupam Kher’s persistenceThe actor persevered despite numerous obstacles. He moved between roles and demonstrated remarkable versatility in the industry. In the later years of his life he also focused on fitness and inspired many with his healthy lifestyle.
