Social Media made the world unpredictable. Gucci, Louis Vuitton or Prada are the brands that relate to high status. Recently two International creators were seen with Vimal Pan Masala bag, raising tsunami on social media. Thanks to the maverick nature of social media which made the regular desi item into a viral fashion statement.
What's the Story
Rosalba Perez and Jaqueline Morales two international creators shared a video that is now viral, showing that they are strutting on Indian streets dressed well, carrying a bright yellow colour Vimal Pan Masala bag. In the video the overlay text clearly states that "No Gucci, No Prada, No LV, ONLY VIMAL." They captioned the video writing, "Indian Souvenir Bag", highlighting iconic Indian street culture that can be seen when one peeks through a playful lens.
In the next video the duo was spotted in a metro station holding the same Vimal Pan Masala Bags. This time the caption goes "Next Station...Chai & colours."
How Paan Shop Turned to Pop Culture
The video uptill now has crossed more than 30 million views, successfully catching attention of meme experts and hilarious comments from citizens. Comments like "Louis Vuitton is nothing against Vimal Bags" or "Eligible for Indian citizenship" flooded their comment section setting an example of creativity.
Few even honour the duo with comments like "Someone please give these people Aadhaar cards."
This isn't the first time internet shows its magic turning something into ironic fashion moments. Last year also a video of a tote bag made from a Basmati rice sack seen in a US salon went viral and the reason was similar. This video shows similar pattern where luxury mixes with local blurring the barrier.
Vimal Pan Masala comes with colour and creativity but now it is more than that, it's in the pages of memes. The duo's post teaches us that sometimes we all need a bright yellow jhola in life for swag.
