On Saturday, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasized the need of maintaining discipline and togetherness within the Mahayuti alliance, emphasizing that internal strife shouldn’t weaken the coalition.
Shinde said that a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi covered a number of Maharashtra-related topics. We are proud to be a member of the NDA, and meeting Modiji has motivated me. “Modiji is not only the Prime Minister but also the leader of the NDA family,” he said, adding that during their talk, recollections of the late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray were also brought up. He said this after extending Diwali wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.
Even if I visit Delhi, debates will still take place, as will visits to my village. I’m doing out my duties. “I had a cordial meeting with Prime Minister Modiji and wished him a happy Diwali,” Shinde said to reporters.
“The Mahayuti and the NDA are together on the development agenda,” Shinde said, emphasizing the coalition’s commitment to development.
He described the impending local government elections as “grassroots-level elections” and said that top leaders will make the ultimate choice on seat-sharing and strategy.
Shinde urged moderation within the coalition in response to the recent dispute between BJP leader Murlidhar Mohol and Congress MLA Ravindra Dhangekar.
“Disputes like these shouldn’t become a point of contention among the Mahayuti. Such remarks shouldn’t hurt the party; workers should protect the Mahayuti,” he stated.
Shinde reiterated his appeal for unity, stating that the coalition should be united and that discipline is essential to the Mahayuti’s long-term political success in Maharashtra.
