Cinnamon: A Common Spice and Its Skin Benefits
Today we will discuss the benefits of cinnamon on the skin. This spice is found in almost every kitchen and its aroma is very special.
Cinnamon, which is obtained from the inner bark of trees belonging to the genus Cinnamomum, is a popular spice. It gets its name from its mid-brown colour. It is used to enhance aroma and taste in various dishes, whether sweet or salty.
The antibacterial properties of cinnamon may be beneficial for people suffering from acne. Including it in your diet can help eliminate the bacteria that aggravate acne.
You can also get relief from acne by making cinnamon face mask at home. For this, mix 1 teaspoon cinnamon with 3 tablespoons honey and make a thick paste. Apply it on the face for 10 minutes and then wash it with lukewarm water. This will help heal active acne and also prevent their recurrence.
Using cinnamon can also help soften the skin and improve fine lines. It may increase blood flow to the skin surface by stimulating blood vessels. Mixing cinnamon powder with any oil and applying it around the eyes can reduce fine lines. This makes the skin glow and fine lines become less visible. You can also use this mixture on lips.
