On this occasion, he said that the police has arrested the main accused, while the raid is going on in search of another absconding criminal. He told that on Wednesday night the criminals shot Mohammad Shahrukh and seriously injured him. As soon as the information was received, the police force including Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Navgachia reached the spot and the injured were referred to Mayaganj Hospital, Bhagalpur.
On the instructions of SP Navgachia, a special team was formed under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Deputy Superintendent of Police. In which DIO team was also deployed separately. Taking immediate action, the team arrested the accused Dhanik Chandra (father- Shatrughan Bhagat, resident- Makkhatakiya, police station- Navgachia). During interrogation, he admitted his involvement in the crime.

In the preliminary investigation, the cause of the incident has been said to be a dispute over the conversation between the injured and the sister-in-law of the accused. A case number 308/25 has been registered at Navgachia police station on the statement of the brother of the injured Shahrukh in relation to the incident. At the same time, continuous raids are going on for the arrest of absconding criminal Kesav Jha and recovery of illegal weapon used in the incident. During the arrest, the police also recovered two spent cartridges and one live cartridge from the accused. Due to this quick action of the police, people have heaved a sigh of relief amidst the panic spread in the area.
Talking to Dhanik Chandra's sister-in-law proved costly for Shahrukh
Shahrukh was continuously talking to Dhanikchandra's sister-in-law on mobile for the last several months. Regarding which Dhanik Chandra raised objection many times. However, even after being warned, he continued talking, Dhanik was planning with Keshav to kill him. But Shahrukh remained injured due to misfire from the pistol. There are many discussions among the local people after the incident. It was told by the Sub-Divisional Deputy Superintendent of Police that Keshav also has a criminal history and Shahrukh also has a criminal history.
