New Delhi: Pakistan is in total panic after India announced joint military exercises involving its three armed forces. According to the reports India has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) near the Sir Creek border area adjoining Pakistan for these exercises. Meanwhile Pakistan’s Naval Chief Naveed Ashraf has visited forward posts in the disputed Sir Creek region along the India-Pakistan border. He stated that Pakistan will protect its maritime sovereignty from Sir Creek to Jiwani. Admiral Ashraf during his visit announced the induction of three Griffin 2400TD hovercrafts received from the United Kingdom into the Pakistan Navy. It is important to note that this hovercraft platform represents a significant step toward military modernization and provides a unique operational advantage. The hovercrafts are specially designed to operate seamlessly across varied and challenging terrains such as shallow waters sand dunes and marshy coastal regions—characteristics for which the Sir Creek area is well known. Here are some of the key details: Pakistan has issued a notification restricting several air traffic routes over its central and southern airspace for October 28–29. India issued a NOTAM for its upcoming military exercise near Sir Creek scheduled from October 30 to November 10. Pakistan fears that India might use the exercise to demonstrate capabilities that could threaten sea-blocking points connected to Karachi and coastal infrastructure. Nearly 70 percent of Pakistan’s trade passes through the Karachi and Bin Qasim ports The Indian military exercise will involve the Army Navy and Air Force. It is important to note that the airspace reserved for the Trishul exercise extends up to an altitude of 28000 feet which defense analyst Damien described as unusual. India’s Ministry of Defence stated that the purpose of the exercise is to showcase the joint operational capabilities self-reliance and innovation of the armed forces.
