Marks and Spencer has axed a product from its shelves and customers are fuming. The news was shared by a reviewer on TikTok with a number of disappointed people taking to the comment section to share their feelings.
It has been confirmed that the popular Gigantic Mint Buttons are no longer available in M&S stores. The 150g bags have been delisted indefinitely, leaving shoppers having to make do with other chocolate options such as the Gigantic Orange and Milk Chocolate Gigantic buttons. However, M&S has tased a possible return, saying: "We always listen to customer feedback when reviewing future ranges."
As reported by The Sun, Awesomeisdifferent posted on TikTok and complained she couldn't find the buttons "anywhere". While she added that she is "going to have one a day to savour the moment", she admitted she might just end up "eating them all".
One commenter wrote: "Those mint buttons are divine!" A secone reviewer said the chocolates "disappeared very quickly in my house".
A third said they were "excellent" and "minty enough" without being "like a breath freshener". The chocolate is described as "firm and smooth" while the crunchy sugar shell provices a nice chew.
One X user, named Kathy Morris, previously posted: "@marksandspencer just opened your gigantic mint chocolate buttons. Wow, so nice. Bought them last week, from #sheldon. Yummy."
An M&S spokesperson said: "At M&S Food we are constantly innovating and refreshing our range, reacting to trends, and customer feedback.
"We have a great selection of treat bags and chocolate boxes in our Foodhalls including our luxurious Swiss Chocolatier Crispy Clouds selection, our incredibly moreish Belgian chocolate Pick 'n' Marks range and customer favourite, the After Dinner Mint Collection."
It's not the first time a popular chocolate item has been axed before the Christmas period. Last year, Cadbury announced it was getting rid of it's popular Milk Daim Little Robins.
However, customers spotted white chocolate Maltesers in Morrisons in June for the first time in 11 years. Quality Street's Green Triangle-inspired bars have also returned to Asda after a similar product was discontinued two years earlier.
