The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has opened the application process for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the institute's official website, www.iitjammu.ac.in. The deadline for applications is November 2, 2025.

To apply for this position, candidates must have an M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Composite Engineering Design, Machine Design, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and Materials Engineering. Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in their respective courses. Candidates who have passed the GATE or NET exam can also apply.

The maximum age limit for applicants is 30 years. Age relaxation is available for reserved category candidates as per government regulations.

The selection process involves a written examination and an interview. During this process, candidates' research knowledge, technical skills, and project experience will be assessed. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted and called for an interview.

Selected candidates will be paid a salary of ₹31,000 to ₹35,000 per month as Junior Research Fellows, along with HRA and other allowances. The salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications and project funding.
