The Indian women’s cricket team is set to take on Bangladesh in match number 28 of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 on October 26, 2025. The match is set to be held in Navi Mumbai.

After a decent start against Sri Lanka and Pakistan in this tournament, India fell short against South Africa, despite being in a position of comfort at one stage. Thereafter, despite scoring 330, they failed to stop Australia from a majestic chase. And then against England, they suffered a 4-run defeat. In what was a virtual quarter-final contest against New Zealand, India prevailed by 53 runs (DLS) to make it to the semis as the 4th-placed side.

Bangladesh, who showed promise in this tournament, were already eliminated. This is a clash they will play for pride.

Out of the 8 teams fighting it out, 4 sides have made the cut for the semi-finals. These include Australia, England, South Africa and India. Meanwhile, NZ, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan have been eliminated.

What is the Context of the IND vs BAN match?

India started with two scrappy wins followed by three crushing defeats. They are 4th currently and a defeat will serve as a big blow in the race for the semis. India beat New Zealand when it mattered. Their final league clash is now against Bangladesh.

India will want to build their game on several fronts. Ahead of a massive semi-final showdown against Australia, they need to sharpen their skills.

Bangladesh haven’t been at their best and need to shake things up. A win here will be a consolation prize.

Interestingly, this is the 3rd clash of the tournament in Navi Mumbai.

In terms of the H2H record, India have won 6 out of 8 games (one tied and one no defeat) against Bangladesh, including their lone meeting in World Cup 2022. The only game they lost was in the 2023 bilateral series.

The stadium has hosted 2 matches (Women’s ODIs) to date. India are playing their 2nd match here.
