Singer-songwriter Miguel, who recently released his album ‘Caos’, opened up about his views on the Trump administration and what his fears are about the future. The singer, who proudly showcases his Mexican heritage through his art, recently spoke down on Trump’s immigration crackdown and ICE’s actions to carry out the plans.

Miguel talks about the Trump administration’s actions
While talking about his latest album with USA TODAY, the singer cracked down on Donald Trump ’s move against immigration and the crackdown on people of color that is being carried out by ICE in the country.

While discussing the President’s first term in the country, he shared, “It was like a 'Twilight Zone', an execution of divisiveness on a stage like the presidency, (which) actually inspired people to be outspoken about maybe what they were holding close to their chest in terms of how they felt about their fellow citizens … (or) about people of other ethnicities and religious beliefs."

Jumping down to the present day, 8 years later, the singer stated that “it’s a scary time” since his actions are affecting non-citizens as well as citizens of the country on a drastic level. He also compared the current state of the country and its politics to “totalitarianism and real control,” which further terrifies him.

He ended his note by stating that while he is not a politician or a scholar in any way, “but I know that we are born with a sense of what is right and wrong. And I would wager my career on the fact that most people are looking at what's happening and feel like something is not right."

Miguel joins a long list of celebrities who have been calling out US President Donald Trump’s recent moves ever since his second term began in January this year. ‘Mean Girls’ star Renee Rapp had also shared he comment on the matter, and had pushed back on ICE in an interview. Robert De Niro has been continuously vocal about his dislike of the Trump administration, and has recently voiced out his opinion about how important protests are as well.
