Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have hit an all-time royal low over the last few weeks, which has ended in them being unable to use their royal titles in public. On October 17, Prince Andrew confirmed he will no longer use his titles as a result of the continued accusations against him following his previous friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
While Andrew continues to deny any accusations, he acknowledged how such scandals have distracted from the work of the Royal Family. This is the reason the prince said he will no longer use his titles - a decision that he said he came to alongside King Charles.
However, while he may now no longer call himself the Duke of York, there is speculation as to whether he will still attend family events such as Christmas at Sandringham.
This is despite the fact that it has been reported that both Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, will miss one major event in the royal calendar in years to come as a result of scandals they have found themselves entangled in.
This event is to be Prince William's future coronation, with The Prince of Wales reportedly clear that Andrew will be banned from all aspects of royal life when he takes to the throne, including at his coronation.
This was reported by The Times, who also wrote that under William's future reign, Andrew will also be "excluded from public and private royal events" and "banned" from most state occasions.
This is something Andrew will not be used to, as he has frequently still appeared at events with the Royal Family even when no longer being a working royal.
This includes attending Easter Sunday services, events such as his brother King Charles' coronation, and family funeral services.
The Times has also reported that this same ban from royal events will apply to Andrew's ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who has also been caught up in scandals surrounding her past friendship with Epstein.
Prince William has not commented on this matter publicly, however it is believed he was involved in conversations about Andrew no longer using his royal titles on Friday before the announcement was made.
