After the unfortunate news of veteran actor Satish Shahs demise the entertainment was deep mourning the death of Satish Shah. The actor passed away at the age of 74 was known for his unforgettable comic timing warmth and larger-than-life screen presence. While Satish did many noteworthy films and television shows he was best remembered for his iconic portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai in the cult classic sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. He left behind an irreplaceable legacy in both television and cinema. His final rites were held in Mumbai on Sunday morning where people from the industry came to pay their final respects and say their last goodbye. From Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan to Farah Khan and Karan Johar several celebrities and co-stars expressed their sorrow and paid tributes to the actor who brought smiles to countless faces through his impeccable work. Emotional Farewell by the Industry The late actor’s funeral was held at his Bandra residence. Many people from the film and TV fraternity came to pay their last respects. Among them were his Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-stars Rupali Ganguly Sumeet Raghavan Ratna Pathak Shah Rajesh Kumar Deven Bhojani and JD Majethia. They all arrived to bid an emotional farewell to their beloved co-star and friend. A video from the funeral soon surfaced online showing Shah’s co-stars bidding him farewell in the most emotional way by singing the show’s theme song beside his pyre. Later actor Deven Bhojani who also directed the show revealed the reason behind this gesture. He said “May look mad dark weird whatever but we always sing this when together & today was not an exception. Felt as if INDU himself insisted and joined us. #RIP #SatishShah ji I am blessed to have directed you in #SarabhaiVsSarabhai. You’ll live forever in our hearts.” Actor Sumeet Raghvan who played Satish Shah’s on-screen son also shared a touching message: “And one final bye to Indu Sarabhai… We will miss you Dad. Love you loads.” He also revealed that the late actor’s prayer meet will be held from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm on Monday 27 October writing “We gather to celebrate the life and creative spirit of a man whose life has touched hearts inspired many minds and brought beauty to the film world. Shradhanjali Kriya at Jalaram Hall Juhu.” Netizens React As soon as this emotional farewell video went viral on social media netizens were quick to react. One fan wrote “The best way to give an artist a final goodbye he would be smiling from heaven.” Another added “Truly a fitting tribute by the best team to a great artist.” Satishs Eternal Legacy Satish who made people laugh with his comic character and quick wit had his fans and the industry in tears as he left the world. However while Satish has left the world today his legacy will stay alive through the characters he brought to life and the laughter he gifted millions of viewers over five decades.
