Sometimes, while you're working or turning on your laptop, it won't connect to Wi-Fi. This issue is quite common and can be fixed with a few simple steps.

You open your laptop to email your boss or order groceries for home, only to find it won't connect to Wi-Fi. This is sure to delay your work and make you angry. Connectivity issues often arise on laptops, but they're not serious, and you can solve them with a few simple tips. Today, we're going to tell you what to do if your laptop won't connect to Wi-Fi.

First, check the network status.

Click the network, battery, and sound icons on the right side of the taskbar. If you see "Connected" under Wi-Fi, it means your laptop is connected to Wi-Fi. If it's not connected, click on Wi-Fi and try connecting.

Turn off Airplane Mode

Sometimes, the laptop's Airplane Mode is accidentally turned on. This can also cause the laptop to be unable to connect to Wi-Fi. To turn it off, go to Settings > Network & Internet > and turn off Airplane Mode.

Forget the Wi-Fi Connection and Reconnect

If Wi-Fi isn't connecting on your laptop, try forgetting it and reconnecting. Also, connect another device to Wi-Fi and check. If it connects, it could be that your device is experiencing some kind of problem.

Restart the Modem

Sometimes, the Wi-Fi connection disconnects while it's on. In this case, turn off the Wi-Fi modem and unplug its power cable. Wait a few seconds and then plug it back in. This will restart the modem and hopefully connect to your device if everything goes well.
