Breaking barriers in khaki, Tenzin Yangki from Tawang has etched her name in history as Arunachal Pradesh’s first-ever woman to join the Indian Police Service. Her story — rooted in courage, discipline, and legacy — has now caught the attention of business tycoon Anand Mahindra, whose motivational post about her is inspiring thousands across social media. From the mountains of Arunachal to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad, Yangki’s journey is a powerful reminder of what resilience truly looks like.
Anand Mahindra took to X and shared what he called his “Monday motivation,” spotlighting Yangki’s incredible journey. He wrote that Tenzin Yangki from Tawang has become the first woman from Arunachal Pradesh to join the Indian Police Service. Describing her as “an academician, a civil servant, and now an IPS officer,” he praised how she continues her parents’ legacy of service while also creating her own path of excellence. Mahindra reflected that being the first is never easy — it means walking alone so others may one day walk beside you — encouraging people not to fear solitude in the pursuit of purpose, as others will eventually follow.
Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, also took to X to celebrate the landmark achievement. He shared heartfelt congratulations for Miss Tenzin Yangki from Tawang District for becoming the first woman IPS officer from the state. Khandu called her journey — from the serene mountains of Arunachal to the prestigious Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad — a reflection of courage, determination, and an unwavering sense of duty. He emphasised that Tenzin’s achievement was not just personal but a moment of pride for the entire state, embodying the spirit of Nari Shakti and inspiring countless young Arunachali daughters to dream big and serve the nation with pride. He wished her a bright and fulfilling career in the service of the country.
The Arunachal Chief Minister’s Office also shared a congratulatory post, writing that “Tenzing Yangki, the trailblazing Arunachalee making history as the first female IPS officer of Arunachal Pradesh,” is proudly following her father’s footsteps. The post mentioned that she joins the esteemed AGMUT cadre after completing her training, celebrating her as a symbol of dedication and pride for the state.
