What to do?
- For this, first of all take 10-12 liters of water in a big vessel.
- Add about 50-60 grams of alum in it and mix it well.
- After this, add two handfuls (about 100 grams) of salt in this water.
- Now, open the clothes whose color is to be fixed and put them in this water.
- If you want, you can put several clothes together. Leave the clothes soaked in this mixture for at least 2 hours.
After 2 hours, wash the clothes thoroughly with clean water so that the salt and alum are completely removed. After this process, the clothes may leave a light color for the first time, but later on their color will be completely fixed and will not spread on any other clothes.

After trying this remedy, sometimes the clothes become a bit hard. For this also Poonam Deewani has told an easy trick. She says, to make clothes soft it is necessary to adopt one more step. Add 2 spoons of vinegar in a bucket of water and soak the clothes in it for half an hour. Vinegar not only softens the clothes but also makes their color last longer. After this, dry the clothes in mild sunlight.
