Amazon has hit a historic milestone of $20 billion in total e-commerce exports from India, surpassing its 2025 target a year ahead of schedule and reflecting the country’s growing influence in global trade. The milestone, announced on October 27, 2025—which is inspired by the Amazon Global Selling Program launched in 2015—now propels the e-commerce giant towards its ambitious target of $80 billion by 2030, which is in line with India’s export target of $200-300 billion.

Over 2,00,000 Indian sellers across 28 states, seven union territories and over 200 cities have shipped 7.5 billion “Made in India” products to 18 international markets including the US, UK, UAE, Canada, Germany and France. The seller base grew by 33% year-on-year, with key categories such as health & personal care (45% CAGR), cosmetics (45%), toys (44%), homewares (39%), apparel (37%) and furniture (36%) driving the pace.

The major states—Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Haryana—are prominent, but smaller hubs like Karur, Junagadh, Erode, Anand, Haridwar and Panipat have achieved multimillion-dollar milestones in 2024, reflecting an export revival at the grassroots level. “This momentum reflects the ambition of Indian businesses and the important role that e-commerce plays in global trade,” said Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling India. He emphasized on technological innovations, capacity building and partnerships to streamline global sales.

For MSMEs, the impact of this platform is transformative. Sarvesh Aggarwal, founder of jute rug exporter Homemonde, credits Amazon for seamless logistics, trend analytics and access to eco-conscious buyers through Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). “We are connecting global customers with India’s artistic heritage through sustainable products,” Agarwal said. He highlighted the compliance tools and payment assistance that have empowered small exporters over the past decade.

Amazon’s $7 billion exports in 2025 signal resiliency, despite US tariff barriers, which are worth nearly $7 billion this year alone. As India eyes a $350 billion e-commerce market by 2026, Amazon’s blueprint could redefine MSME globalization by combining innovation with cultural exports.
