Australian women cricketers molestation case : The Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup is currently underway in India and many teams are facing each other. Australian women cricketers were harassed. The two players were leaving Hotel Radisson Blu to go to a cafe when they were attacked by some criminals on a bike. This incident caused a stir. The accused was arrested for molesting Australian women cricketers. Aqeel Khan, who was arrested, has been sent to judicial custody for 15 days by the court.
Accused arrested within 6 hours
Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotia told IANS, “The accused was arrested within 6 hours of the incident. His bike did not have a number plate. After the arrest, a one-day police custody was sought from the court. After police custody, the accused was sent to 15-day judicial custody on Sunday evening. The arrested person has a criminal background. Indore police is taking strict action against such criminals.”
The Australian women’s cricket team is currently in India for the 2025 World Cup. On October 25, the Australian team faced South Africa. Australia won this match. Before the match, there were reports of harassment of two Australian women players. The Australian cricketers were walking to a cafe from the Radisson Blu Hotel when they were molested by a young man on a motorcycle, the players allege. After examining CCTV footage, hotel records and the statements of security personnel, the police arrested the culprit. The motorcycle of the accused has also been seized. Following the incident, tournament organizers and local authorities have beefed up security around team hotels, training grounds and stadiums in Navi Mumbai.
