Why has the eighth pay commission not been formed yet?

The previous i.e. 7th Pay Commission was implemented in 2016, which was implemented almost two years after its formation.

CSSF wrote a letter to PM Modi

Central Secretariat Service Forum (CSSF) has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing concern over the delay in the 8th Pay Commission. It has been said in the letter that the 7th Pay Commission was constituted two years before its implementation, but now even after 10 months, no information has come regarding the 8th Commission. Employees say that if there is a delay now, it will be difficult to implement the salary increase from January 2026.

Pressure from employees increased, demand for immediate notification from government

Employee unions have started putting pressure on the government. He says that if the commission is not constituted by November 2025, the recommendations will not be given on time. Because of this, employees have to apply for their new pay scale. wait till 2028 may have to. The unions demand that the government appoint the chairman and members of the commission as soon as possible so that the work can start on time.

When can the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?

According to government sources, if the Eighth Pay Commission notification is issued by November 2025, the report will be ready by the end of 2027. salary revision thereafter January 2028 Can be implemented from.
