NCERT Books: Students and their parents across the country often complain about the lack of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) books. NCERT books are often unavailable. This impacts students' preparation and, on the other hand, places a significant financial burden on parents. Because books from other publishers are expensive, students and parents will now have easy access to NCERT books.
Let's find out what NCERT plans to do in this regard. What steps has NCERT taken in this regard?
10 Strategic Distribution Centers to Open in States by November
NCERT has begun working to distribute its books to every part of the country. Under this plan, NCERT will open 10 Strategic Distribution Centers in various states. NCERT has clarified that the 10 newly launched distribution centers will function as strategic centers. This means that these centers will be established in states where books can be easily distributed within the states. These 10 distribution centers will be operational by the end of November 2025.
Transportation of Books Will Be Easier, NCERT Signs Agreement with CWC
On one hand, NCERT is going to launch 10 new Strategic Distribution Centers in the states to ensure access to books in all parts of the country. On the other hand, to facilitate transportation, NCERT has signed an agreement with the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC). In this connection, NCERT has sent its first shipment through CWC. NCERT sent its first shipment through CWC to the Strategic Distribution Center, Lucknow.
NCERT currently provides books through RPDCs
NCERT currently provides books across the country through Regional Production cum Distribution Centers (RPDCs). These RPDCs are located in four states across the country, with the Ahmedabad RPDC ensuring the availability of books in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Goa. Similarly, the Bengaluru RPDCs deliver books to Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Lakshadweep, and other cities in South India.
The Kolkata RPDCs deliver NCERT books to Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha, while the Guwahati RPDCs deliver NCERT books to all the states in the Northeast. Ten new strategic distribution centers are now underway.
