WhatsApp is about to be updated soon. This update will allow users to add a cover photo along with their profile photo in the app. Testing has already begun.
WhatsApp currently only allows for a profile photo. In the coming days, a cover photo will be added to the profile photo, and testing has begun. This customization option was reported by wabetainfo, a website that tracks upcoming WhatsApp features.
The report states that the Android 2.25.32.2 beta update is available on the Google Play Store. This has revealed WhatsApp's cover photo feature, allowing users to add a cover photo to their profile photo. For your information, this feature is currently available only in WhatsApp Business. However, this function will soon be available in normal WhatsApp as well.
Looking at the screenshot, the cover photo can be seen behind the profile photo in the WhatsApp profile section. You can add a photo of your choice. The good thing is that it also comes with privacy features, allowing you to decide who can see your cover photo.
Like the profile photo, you will have the options Everyone, My Contacts, and Nobody. Selecting Everyone will allow everyone to see the photo, selecting My Contacts will allow only your contacts to see it, and selecting Nobody will allow no one to see the profile photo.
When will the feature be released?
Reports suggest that the cover photo function of the instant messaging app WhatsApp is currently in development. This feature is currently being tested and will soon be rolled out to beta users. It is speculated that this feature may be rolled out in late November or early December.
