If you're seeking a spine-chilling television programme perfect for Halloween viewing, reality often proves more disturbing than fiction. That's certainly true for one bone-chilling crime drama that viewers claim rendered them utterly speechless.

The programme is titled Until I Kill You and draws from the autobiographical work Living with a Serial Killer written by Delia Balmer. Both the book and the resulting series document Delia's harrowing relationship with an individual named John Sweeney. The drama traces Delia and John's story following their encounter at a Camden pub during the 1990s.

Whilst it represents a dramatisation, it remains faithful to the genuine nightmare that Delia experienced. With Delia clinging to life, John escaped and spent six gruelling years as a fugitive.

Eventually he was apprehended and charged with Delia's attempted murder. He received four life sentences for his savage assault on his partner.

Nevertheless, in 2010 John was additionally convicted for two earlier murders of his former girlfriends Melissa Halstead and Patricia Fields.

The BBC also disclosed at the time that officials suspect he may have murdered three additional women between 1970 and 1990.

Audiences who have viewed the series were completely astounded by it.

One viewer posted on IMDb: "This short series left me speechless, just blew me away! Not only because of the great actors and performance but also because of how well the story is told, realistic, very strong and at times uncomfortable and frustrating."

Another viewer commented: "This is an extremely disturbing but superbly produced drama series that portrays the slippery but deeply manipulative side of a horrific serial killer."

A third viewer noted: "This excellent drama is based on the true, horrific story of Delia Balmer. Unlike a lot of these true life dramas, there is no sugar coating on the events or the characters, or some dynamic hero wading in to save the day."

If you're interested in watching this chilling four-part series, it's available for free streaming on ITVX.
