Chhath Fast Study: There is much celebration of Chhath festival across the country where this fast, celebrated with devotion and faith, has ended today. During Chhath Puja, fasting women and men worship Sun God and Chhathi Maiya. Here, on the last day of Chhath Puja, the fast is concluded after offering Usha Arghya. Here, during Chhath Puja, a strict waterless fast of 36 hours is observed on the last day of the four-day Chhath festival. Here today we are giving you information about the rituals and method of fasting.

Know the time of fasting

Sunrise on 28th October – Usha Arghya time at 6.30 am (according to Delhi time)
Time of breaking Chhath Vrat – It can be done any time after offering Arghya to the rising Sun at the time of sunrise.

Know Chhath Vrat Udyapan material

Information about the contents of Chhath Vrat Udyapan is given here. Ingredients like two bamboo baskets, fruits (banana, dabh lemon, custard apple), thekua, kasar (rice laddu), sugarcane, sweet potato, suthani, betel nut, betel nut, turmeric, vermillion, roli, incense, lamp and ghee are included in the Udyapan of the fast. To offer Arghya to the Sun God, a pot, milk and water are also required.

Here you can know about the method of breaking Chhath fast which is easy.

• First of all, wake up in Brahma Muhurta and take bath and reach the ghat on time.
• If you are unable to go to the ghat then make a water pond at home using mud or brick.
• Then stand in that water with bare feet and offer Arghya to the rising sun at the time of sunrise.
• Surya mantras should be chanted while offering Arghya to the rising Sun.
• Break your fast only with the prasad offered during the puja.
• Then, take the Prasad like Thekua etc. offered to Chhathi Mata yourself and distribute it among the people.

• According to your capacity, feed the Brahmins or give them donations.
• Do not eat spicy food while observing Chhath fast.
