A vintage interview of legendary Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah has recently gone viral on social media, in which he openly criticizes Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and praises Akshay Kumar. In the interview, Shah refers to Shah Rukh as a “boring actor” while highlighting Akshay’s rise as a talented performer.
In the clip, Shah Rukh , known for his candidness, discusses his thoughts on Bollywood’s leading actors. When asked about Shah Rukh Khan, he acknowledged the actor’s success but pointed out that he finds him “boring” as an actor in recent years. Naseeruddin Shah shared, “I respect Shah Rukh Khan, but as an actor, he has become boring to me.” Despite this, he clarified that he does admire Shah Rukh’s achievements, particularly considering that the actor did not have any significant industry support in his early career.
In contrast, Naseeruddin Shah expressed deep admiration for Akshay Kumar, acknowledging his impressive transformation as an actor. He commended Akshay for making his mark in Bollywood without relying on any godfather or industry connections. Naseeruddin Shah noted, “Akshay Kumar has worked hard and, over time, has developed considerable acting skills. He used to be known for his comedy, but now his acting has improved significantly, and I appreciate his work.”
Naseeruddin Shah further joked about Akshay’s growth, saying, “Akshay finally learned acting after doing so many films, and now he’s a much better actor. I genuinely like him.”
The viral clip has sparked a debate among fans on social media. Some have supported Naseeruddin Shah’s honest assessment of both actors, while others have defended Shah Rukh Khan’s acting, appreciating his range and influence in the industry.
