Chris Gayle has become the Lanka Premier League's (LPL) official Brand Ambassador for Season 2025, which will be held in July-August 2026 after the culmination of major international series. The revised schedule ensures uninterrupted access for players and spectators to the excitement of the tournament as it reaches its sixth and largest edition so far. 

Gayle, one of the greatest and most exciting players in the history of the game, adds to his unparalleled record in international and franchise T20 cricket an inexorably larger-than-life personality that exactly matches the LPL's increasing profile for high-stakes action, star talent, and fan interaction.

As the league further establishes itself, Gayle's addition and the mid-year window combination set the LPL up to gain international attention and provide an even more thrilling cricket experience.

Gayle's record-breaking performances have turned him into a global name in world cricket. With over 14,000 runs and 22 centuries in T20 cricket, he is the top century-scorer in the format. His 175* in the Indian Premier League is the highest individual score in T20 history, and his century off 30 balls remains the fastest ever.

For the West Indies, he has provided some of the sport's most legendary performances, including a Test triple century (333), an ODI double century (215), and numerous explosive innings in T20 internationals. His single-handed ability to turn matches has made him a legend of the game.

The Lanka Premier League in 2025 will witness five franchises Colombo, Dambulla, Galle, Jaffna and Kandy clash against each other in Colombo, Dambulla and Kandy before the playoffs determine the champion. Three weeks of exciting action will witness cricket of international class, star-studded teams, and now, the additional drama of the Universe Boss powering the LPL.
