South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp wreaked havoc on the English batsmen in the first semi-final of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 played in Guwahati. Kapp shook England’s innings by taking two wickets in his very first over. Both Heather Knight and Amy Jones were out without opening the account. This double wicket maiden over had decided the direction of the match right from the beginning.

The first semi-final of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 was played between England and South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday (29 October). Batting first, South Africa scored a huge score of 319 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs, thanks to the explosive innings of captain Laura Wolvaardt.

Chloe Tryon added 33 unbeaten runs in the last overs to put the team in a strong position. Sophie Ecclestone took 4 wickets for England.
