UPSC CSE Exam 2024 Reserve List: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the results of the Civil Services Examination 2024 reserve list. This revised list of selected candidates includes 114 additional candidates selected for various prestigious civil services – IAS, IPS, IFS, and other central services. This revised list of selected candidates is available on the UPSC's official website, www.upsc.gov.in.
Final Merit List Announced in April
The final result of the UPSC CSE 2024 was released on April 22, 2025. At that time, the Commission recommended 1,009 candidates out of a total of 1,129 vacancies, while 15 candidates were provisionally selected. The remaining seats were reserved according to the vacancies, and the results for these have now been announced.
How many candidates were selected from which category?
The category-wise number of candidates included in the reserve list is as follows:
General Category – 94 candidates
Other Backward Classes (OBC) – 13 candidates
EWS – 5 candidates
Scheduled Castes – 1 candidate
Scheduled Tribes – 1 candidate
In total, 114 candidates have received an additional opportunity.
How was the reserve list prepared?
The Commission stated that, in accordance with Rules 20(4) and 20(5) of the Civil Services Examination 2024, a combined reserve list is prepared after the final selection list. This list includes candidates who are ranked immediately below the final recommended candidates in the merit order. These candidates are appointed when vacancies become available.
