Microsoft’s 365 services including Azure Cloud remained closed for hours, the company gave this reason

New Delhi:Just a few days after the Amazon AWS server was down, a major technical glitch has come to light in Microsoft’s flagship cloud service Azure. Due to this technical glitch that occurred on Wednesday, thousands of users around the world were unable to access services like Microsoft 365, Teams, Word, Excel and Microsoft Store. This problem has come to light at a time when companies are most dependent on cloud services for their business and data storage. Thousands of complaints were lodged simultaneously by users on the Downdetector website. Confirming this outage, the company has said that its technical team is working rapidly to restore the server.

Affected users

According to Downdetector data, this major outage on the Azure platform affected more than 16,600 users worldwide. Apart from this, about 9,000 users were also not able to login to Microsoft 365 services.

Company’s official statement

The company said in its official statement that we are investigating the problem to the Azure portal, due to which some customers are not able to access the portal. According to reports, the impact of this outage was not limited to the technology sector only, but it also had a direct impact on the retail and gaming industries. Along with Minecraft servers, online services of big companies like Starbucks, Kroger and Costco were also disrupted.

When did the technical problem start?

TechRadar reported that this glitch started on October 29, 2025. After this, its widespread impact was seen on Microsoft’s cloud network system. Users around the world faced problems due to disruption of many Azure services. At present, the company has said that it is continuously trying to bring the system back to normal and the work of server restoration is going on at a fast pace.
