Family Planning: The concepts of family planning are changing from ancient times to modern times. Whereas earlier people in Indian families used to have three-four children on an average, now the family is limited to only one or two children. In olden times, the reason for having more children was that the more hands there are, the more one will earn. This perception has changed with time. Earlier, even if children were born to eradicate poverty, now in modern times, with the era of inflation, families are unable to muster the courage to think of more than one or two children. This also includes the expenses incurred in raising children. Research has also come regarding this.

Know what research says

Here, a study by researchers at the Australian National University states that low-income families spend about 17 percent of their income on raising their first child and 13 percent on each subsequent child. The reason for this is the expenses increasing with time, while the reason is that educated families in India are producing less children, as a result of which the fertility rate in the country has come down to the replacement rate of 2.1. If we understand the replacement rate here, the same number of people are dying as children are born. This means that in the future we will no longer be a young country. There may be shortage of human resources to work in future. This means that the younger generation will not survive and most of the elderly population will survive.

Expenses change according to age

The study here revealed that families, overall, spend less money on children. An attempt has also been made in the study to know the answer to this question whether the major expenditure of the children changes as per their age. For this, the latest information has come in the research that, compared to children between six to 12 years of age, the cost of raising younger and older children is higher. The reason for this is that the immunity of small children is weak. The trend of having fewer children is increasing not only in India but all over the world. Populations are declining in Australia, China and Japan and South Korea.

India’s population will decrease by 2063

Information is given here according to the data. Based on the current trend of producing fewer children in India, the United Nations has estimated that India’s population will reach its maximum level by 2062 and at that time the country’s population will be around 1.70 billion. This year, about 2,22,000 people will be added to the population. After this, the population of the country will start decreasing from 2063 and this year the population of our country will decrease by about 1,15,000 people. In 2064 this number will increase to 4,37,000 and in 2065 the number will increase to 7,93,000.
