If you have recently heard a child say ‘six-seven’ and wondered what it means, then you are not alone. This is neither a mathematics question, nor a cricket or basketball score, nor the level of any game. In fact, ’67’ i.e. ‘Six-Seven’ has become the new craze for Gen Alpha.

So much so that Dictionary.com has even declared it the Word of the Year for 2025. Yes, not a word but a number has left everyone behind. Let us know what is the story of this slang?

How did the ’67’ craze start?

This unique trend started with a song. Rapper Skrilla released a track named ‘Doot Doot (67)’, after which this number spread like wildfire on social media. Within no time, everyone started saying ‘six-seven’ on Tik Tok, meme pages and in school corridors. Then a video went viral in which a child’s energy and his way of saying ’67’ was so funny that he now became famous on the internet as The Six Seven.

What does ’67’ actually mean?

Now the biggest question is what does ’67’ mean? According to Dictionary.com, it means something like okay, works, or don’t know. But the real thing is that ’67’ means nothing. It’s just a vibe. A mood and maybe that’s why Gen Alpha is liking it so much.

new language of internet

’67’ is not just a number but reflects the thinking of this generation, where expression matters more than clarity. This shows that now not words, but feelings and vibes are shared on the internet. Dictionary.com’s word list for this year included many unique words, such as aura farming, broligarchy, tradewife, tariff, and overtourism. Even the dynamite emoji (TNT) was in the final list, which went viral due to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s explosive love story. But in the end the one who left everyone behind was only one number 67. A trend which is neither understandable nor stopping, but still is on everyone’s lips.
