Why will banks remain closed?

In fact, on October 31, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister of the country and known as the Iron Man, is celebrated. This day is celebrated as ‘National Unity Day’ throughout the country. On this occasion, government programs and parades are organized in Gujarat.

For this reason, RBI has declared one day holiday for banks in the state of Gujarat. During this period, all types of public, private and cooperative banks will remain closed. However, digital banking like UPI, internet banking, mobile apps and ATM services will continue as normal.
