                            Narayana Health
India's Narayana Health has taken forward its health services by purchasing UK company Practice Plus Group Hospitals. With this step, Narayana Health will now also work in the UK healthcare market. Practice Plus Group runs 12 hospitals and surgery centers in the UK, which specialize in bone, eye and general operations. After this deal, Narayana Health has now become one of the three largest healthcare companies in India.
Practice Plus Group is the fifth largest private hospital network in the UK, performing around 80,000 surgeries every year. This deal will give Narayana Health direct entry into the growing surgery market in the UK. Both companies believe that healthcare should be affordable for all.
What is the motive behind this?
Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health, said, it is very encouraging for us to purchase Practice Plus Group Hospitals. Just as we believe that expensive treatment is not possible for everyone, similarly they also think the same. The objective of both is the same: to provide better and affordable health services to the patients. We are going to make a great partnership.
Jim Easton, CEO of Practice Plus Group, said, Dr. Shetty and Narayana Health are known for their excellent and humane service. We are happy that we are now becoming a part of their team. Now Narayana Health will include the hospitals of Practice Plus Group in its system and will use its technology and experience to provide better facilities to the patients.
There are hospitals in the Caribbean too
Narayana Health was founded by Dr. Devi Shetty and is headquartered in Bengaluru. It is one of India's largest healthcare companies, with hospitals in India and the Caribbean. The company has more than 18 thousand employees, which include about 3,800 doctors. Its main objective is to focus on better treatment, patient care and quality.
Narayana One Health (NH Integrated Care) and Narayana Health Insurance are subsidiaries of Narayana Health. The company announced on Friday that it has acquired UK-based Practice Plus Group Hospitals. This deal is worth approximately Rs 2,200 crore (188.78 million pounds).
