NTPC made profit in the second quarter, company’s profit increased by 3%

The net profit of the country's largest power generating company NTPC Limited increased by nearly three percent to Rs 5,225.30 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year. NTPC said in its information given to the stock market on Thursday that its net profit in the same quarter of the last financial year was Rs 5,380.25 crore. The company's total income increased marginally to Rs 45,262.10 crore in the July-September quarter. In the same period last year it was Rs 45,197.77 crore.

During this period, the total expenses of the company decreased marginally to Rs 40,218.03 crore, which was Rs 40,877.27 crore in the same quarter a year ago. Meanwhile, the board of directors of NTPC has declared the first interim dividend of Rs 27.75 per share for the financial year 2025-26. This dividend will be paid on 25th November.

By September 2025, the total installed and commercial potential of NTPC Group was 83,893 MW. In the first half of the financial year (April-September), the total electricity production of the company was 174.488 billion units. The average duty rate during this period was Rs 4.9 per unit, which is higher than Rs 4.67 per unit in the same period of the last financial year. NTPC, operated under the Ministry of Power, contributes about one-fourth of the country's total power supply.

The impact of NTPC's positive results is not visible on its shares. Since the results have come positive. But NTPC shares are currently seen in negative. Till the time of writing the news, there is pressure on the shares of this government company. The stock of NTPC Limited is currently trading at Rs 337.25 with a decline of about 2.27 percent.

The market's main index Sensex is currently trading at 84,191.29 points with a decline of 213.17 points or 0.25 percent.
