Colorful celebration with tribute to Sardar Patel
This event will be even more special this time, because November 1 is also the 150th birth anniversary of the country’s iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On this occasion, a special projection mapping show will be organized at the Red Fort, which will be dedicated to the life of Patel and his contribution to the integration of India. This show will provide a unique experience through colorful lights and sound effects.
Foundation Day of 9 states and union territories
In this festival, along with Delhi, Foundation Day of nine states including Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Punjab, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh will also be celebrated. Apart from this, the culture of union territories like Lakshadweep, Andaman-Nicobar, Puducherry and Chandigarh will also be displayed. A confluence of traditional arts, dance performances and folk music of these states will be seen in the festival.
Confluence of tastes from across the country
The biggest attraction of the festival will be a series of grand food stalls, in which the traditional dishes of every state will be tasted. Visitors will be able to enjoy delicious dishes like Maize Roti-Sarson Ka Saag from Punjab, Appam-Stew from Kerala, Poha-Jalebi from Madhya Pradesh and Dosa and Idli-Sambhar from South India. These food stalls will present a living example of the diverse culinary traditions of India.
Entry open to all without ticket
Delhi government has announced that entry into this program will be free. This means that no ticket will be charged and common citizens will be able to easily participate in it. Visitors will not only be able to enjoy delicious cuisine but will also be able to experience colorful cultural programmes, folk dances and light shows.
This time Delhi Foundation Day is not just a celebration but is going to become a symbol of India’s unity, diversity and cultural richness.
